01:00 AM EDT on Friday, July 4, 2008

Holiday options
Show some patriotism. Take in a parade. You’ve got at least a few choices today. There’s the big one in Bristol, of course, now in its 223rd year, which steps off at 10:30 a.m. on Hope Street (Route 114). There’s also the Arnold Mills Parade in Cumberland at 11 a.m. on Nate Whipple Highway (Route 120) near the Massachusetts border. And there’s the Ancients & Horribles Parade in Glocester, which begins at 4 p.m. at Routes 100 and 98, and travels along Putnam Pike (Route 44) in the village of Chepachet.
