Seize Sunday: Off to the races in Providence

Hit the Rhode
Close to 5,000 runners will be thronging the streets of Providence today for the first Cox Providence Rhode Races. The event includes the Sports Marathon, a half-marathon, and a 5k run. All start at 9 a.m. The 26.2-mile marathon starts from the Johnson & Wales Harborside campus and winds through East Providence and Pawtucket to end in downtown Providence on Weybosset Street near the Providence Performing Arts Center. Runners from 10 to 71 years old are in Providence from as far away as Hong Kong and Belgium for the event.
