Dollar: In trading against major currencies yesterday in New York, the dollar ended at 90.74 Japanese yen, up from Tuesday’s close of 90.32 yen. The euro closed at 3:30 p.m. at $1.4888, up from $1.4702.
Metals: Gold for current delivery closed at $1,086.70 a troy ounce on the New York Mercantile Exchange, up from Tuesday close of $1,084.30. Silver closed at $17.395 an ounce, up from $17.171.
Fuels: December light, sweet crude oil rose 80 cents to $80.40 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. December heating oil rose 1.69 cents to $2.0902 a gallon.
