Denton
CVS Caremark
David M. Denton has been appointed executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective Jan. 1, 2010. Denton will succeed David Rickard who announced in February his intention to retire as chief financial officer.
Denton, currently CVS Caremark’s senior vice president, controller and chief accounting officer, brings 20 years of financial management experience with a focus on the health care and retail drug sectors to his new position. Since joining the company in 1999, he has assumed positions of increasing responsibility including senior finance positions within CVS/pharmacy and CVS Caremark and role of chief financial officer for PharmaCare, a subsidiary of CVS.
Laird Daniels will replace Denton in his current role of controller and chief accounting officer. He joined CVS Caremark in 1997and was most recently vice president of finance and retail controller for CVS/pharmacy.
Centreville Bank
Denise L. Gareau has been appointed assistant manager of its Wickford branch. She most recently served as customer service representative at the bank’s home office in West Warwick and has worked for the bank for 20 years.
Washington Trust Bank
Diane L. Lynch of Westerly has been promoted to vice president, consumer lending. She is responsible for the processing and closing of consumer loans, analyzing trends and recommending changes to credit policies, and supporting consumer loan origination efforts. She joined the bank in 1982.
Tourism Cares
Daniel J. Sullivan, Jr., president and chief executive officer of Collette Vacations has been appointed chairman of the board of directors. He succeeds Arthur C. Tauck Jr., chairman of Tauck World Discovery, Norwalk, Conn.
The global nonprofit organization awards grants to natural, cultural and historic sites worldwide, by presenting academic and service scholarships to hospitality and tourism students.
The Renaissance Providence Hotel
Janet Poole Karchner has been named director of catering. She will lead the hotel’s ongoing commitment to high customer service by combining the catering sales division and event service areas.
