Charles J. Fogarty has been named policy director at the Mayforth Group. In his new position, he will be responsible for helping clients navigate federal governmental agencies while advocating their position to elected officials.

With more than 25 years experience in the intricacies of government gained through his work as a policy adviser, legislative leader and executive in state government, he has an understanding of public policy issues and the legislative process. Serving as Rhode Island’s lieutenant governor from 1999 until 2007, he transformed the office into an active, policy-driven operation that delivered results in areas ranging from health care to small business and emergency management. He earned the reputation as a hardworking, effective leader who successfully took on complex issues, built coalitions and enacted major legislation all while earning the respect of Rhode Islanders. In 2006, as a candidate for governor, he nearly upset the popular incumbent in the closest governor’s race in the nation.

Timothy T. Corey has joined the firm as a partner in its construction and public contracts law group in the Hartford office. He will lead the firm’s construction practice in Connecticut.

Fabio M. Carvalho of North Providence has been named manager of information technology. In this position, he will be responsible for client interface and client project design and management.

Stephen Perez has been hired as director of quality services. In this position, he will oversee the company’s quality management system and quality engineering programs including manufacturing quality engineering, quality control and design assurance.

Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge

Becket McGrath will join the firm as a partner in London to head its United Kingdom competition practice. He was formerly a branch director in the competition enforcement division of the Office of Fair Trading.
