Strollers, light fixtures recalled
01:00 AM EST on Monday, January 1, 2007
•About 14,300 Phil & Teds e3 Strollers with doubles seats, manufactured by Regal Lager Inc., because children can touch the rear wheels when seated in the stroller’s add-on seat, which poses an abrasion hazard to children. The company received one report of a child scraping his arm after touching the wheel.
The three-wheeled stroller is sold in a variety of fabric colors and has a black, steel-tubing frame. An additional seat, called a “Doubles Kit,” can be added directly behind the main stroller’s seat, allowing another child to ride. When used in this position, a seated child can reach the wheels. Internet retailers and baby furniture and baby products stores nationwide sold the product from July 2005 through November.
Consumers should stop placing the add-on seat in this lower position and contact Regal Lager for free wheel guards. For more information, call the company at (800) 593-5522 or visit http://www.regallager.com or http://www.cpsc.gov.
•About 12,800 trim assembly kits for recessed light fixtures, manufactured by Progress Lighting Inc., because heat from the light bulb can cause the fixture’s plastic trim to soften and melt. This can cause the trim and lens to fall, leading to possible cuts or injuries for nearby consumers. No injuries have been reported. Progress Lighting has received four reports of the trims melting.
The recalled trim assembly kits attach to recessed light fixtures installed primarily in bathroom ceilings. The kit includes a 7 3/4 -inch white plastic ring, a glass lens and a metal reflector. The product was made in China and has model numbers: 8009-60, 8010-60 or 8011-60. The model number is printed on a sticker attached to the inside and outside of the reflector. The recall does not include models made in Mexico.
Electrical and lighting distributors nationwide sold the item from July 2006 through last month. Consumers should contact Progress Lighting to arrange for installation of a replacement trim ring. For more information, call the company at (877) 369-4548 or visit http://www.progresslighting.com or http://www.cpsc.gov.
