P-Bruins' win streak snapped at three

PROVIDENCE –– Chad Wiseman scored his seventh goal of the season and also had an assist and Jeff Frazee stopped 23 shots as the Lowell Devils skated to a 3-1 victory over the Providence Bruins last night at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.
The P-Bruins, who had won their last three games, got their goal from Vladimir Sobotka.
The Devils took a 1-0 advantage at the 7:01 mark of the first period when Alexander Vasyunov netted his eighth goal of the season, with Anssi Salmela getting the lone assist.
In the second period, the Devils went up, 2-0, at the 6:28 mark. Brad Mills tallied his second goal of the season, while Wiseman recorded the lone assist.
Providence pulled within a goal at the 12:21 mark. Martin St. Pierre sent the puck from the left boards toward the front of the net for Martins Karsums. He tipped the puck to Sobotka, who scored his 10th goal of the season.
Lowell regained its two-goal advantage at the 9:37 mark of the third period. Wiseman netted his seventh goal of the season with Jon DiSalvatore, the former Providence College player, picking up the lone assist.
Tuukka Rask stopped 26 of 29 shots for the P-Bruins, while Frazee made 23 saves for the Devils. The P-Bruins were 1-for-3 on the power play and 2-for-3 on the penalty kill.
