BOSTON (AP) - The Boston Bruins picked right wing Jordan Caron with the 25th overall selection in the NHL draft Friday night.
Caron, 18, had 36 goals with 31 assists last year in junior hockey in Quebec for Rimouski. He is 6-foot-2 and 199 pounds.
Caron led his team in scoring last season over 56 regular-season games, and ranked 11th in the league in scoring.
In a six-day stretch in early October, Caron scored five goals, including two game winners. For that effort, he was named the league's player of the week.
In 183 games over three seasons with Rimouski, Caron had 83 goals, 82 assist and 165 points.
Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli was booed by the crowd when he said it was nice to be back in Montreal. The Bruins eliminated the Montreal Canadiens in the first round of the NHL playoffs.
The NHL draft continues with rounds 2 through 7 on Saturday. The Bruins have three picks: in the fourth round (112th overall), sixth round (176th overall) and seventh round (206th overall).
