Gallery Night is tonight
01:00 AM EDT on Thursday, May 15, 2008
Attention art fans: the monthly art bash known as Gallery Night Providence takes place tonight from 5 to 9 p.m. Highlights include a haunting look at war and peace in the Middle East (Walid Raad’s multimedia installation at the Bell Gallery); a salute to graphic design guru Malcolm Grear (Rhode Island College); and works by a pair of longtime instructors at the Rhode Island School of Design (Dean Richardson and Merlin Szasz at the Providence Art Club).Gallery-goers will also find a new name on the Gallery Night line-up: the Royal Gallery, a new fine arts gallery at 298 Atwells Ave. As usual, buses will offer free transportation between galleries. Free parking is also available at several locations, including the lot behind One Citizens Plaza and the Providence Art Club parking lot on Benefit Street. Contact: (401) 490-2042 or visit www.gallerynight.info.
