A fresh look at the historic RISD Museum
08:36 AM EST on Sunday, February 12, 2006
When Hope Alswang took over as director of the RISD Museum last fall, we were curious about seeing the collection through her fresh eyes. What were her favorite pieces at the museum?
Recently, Alswang took arts writer Bill Van Siclen on a tour of the museum, pointing out what she likes best. The pieces seen here are on Alswang's list. So are colorful garments by Yinka Shonibare and a Bombay-front Colonial desk from the museum's Pendleton House.
See the rest of Alswang's choices, and add your own at the end of the multimedia tour.
