Architecture exhibit in place
01:00 AM EDT on Tuesday, October 7, 2008
“Housing + Transportation + Civic Design,” an exhibit chronicling South Kingstown architect Troy West’s exploration of design issues since 1963, will run through Oct. 27 at The AS220 Project Space in Providence.
On display will be transportation projects, housing designs, and civic designs, including the ongoing transformation project at Dale Carlia Corner in Wakefield.
West received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture from Carnegie Mellon University, later joined the faculty, and founded ARCHITECTURE 2001, the first university-based community design center in the country.
He is one of seven architects selected to form a new school of architecture at New Jersey Institute of Technology.
AS220 Project Space, at 97 Mathewson St., Providence, is open Wednesday through Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 12 to 4 p.m. \For more information, go to www.as220.org.
